Day 17: Lettering + Doodle Challenge on Instagram

| Art, Lettering

As soon as I saw the challenge prompt for today was “starry night”, I immediately thought of Van Gogh’s masterpiece by the same name. Although I’ve never attempted it before, I decided to dive in and try my hand at trying to do my own referential piece based on Van Gogh’s painting. He had a canvas, brushes, and paint… I had a sketchbook and Sharpies.

Day 13: Lettering + Doodle Challenge on Instagram

This was really fun to create. I looked at the challenge prompt last night and then thought about it as I was falling asleep. Today when I woke up, I knew sort of how I wanted it to look. I turned on the movie Serendipity on Netflix, cracked open my sketchpad, and started in. The end result is even cooler than what I had envisioned in my mind.

By small and simple things…

| Inspiration

By small and simple things are great things brought to pass

Every raindrop matters to a garden parched with thirst.
The smallest ladybug can do so much good by eating one aphid at a time.

When you are feeling small, weak, inadequate, and inconsequential,
Don’t ever forget…
In God’s hands,
small,
weak,
inadequate,
and inconsequential
things and people can create
greatness,
beauty, and
powerful impact on the world.
